Carignan de Bordeaux, France - November 1, 2007
Andy Lench, a major U.S. importer of Bordeaux wines, today announced the purchase of historic Château Carignan and its estate. Originally built in 1452, the well-preserved château includes a succession of owners with famous family names, among them Xaintrailles and Montesquieu. It seems like only yesterday we were bustling about Bordeaux for the 2005 Union des Grands Crus tastings! And now, we're back, fresh from our bout with tasting the 2006's out of barrel. Our contingency was led by our own Andy Lench, and joined by key members of our UK sister company, Bordeaux Wine International Ltd; our party of tasters numbered 7.
